PUBG will not launch or keeps crashing on PC: checks in order

Does Play return immediately, or does PUBG close during startup? Work through these checks for the Windows Steam edition. A connection failure after the game opens needs a separate diagnosis.

1. Identify where startup stops

Record the exact message and stage: before a window appears, at the splash screen or during a match. Restart the PC and try once. If the lobby opens but a connection fails, check PUBG Support service announcements and your network instead. This article does not describe PUBG Mobile.

2. Remove old launch options

Open PUBG’s Steam Library properties and the launch-options field under General. Save the existing line in a note, clear it and test. PUBG recommends removing old commands circulated as performance tweaks. Adding several new tweaks at the same time makes it harder to identify which setting changes the result.

3. Verify the installation

Close the game, open its properties, select Installed Files and verify integrity. Wait for the check and any replacement downloads to finish before testing. Avoid verifying several games simultaneously. Valve explains that some local configuration files may fail validation; that message alone does not establish that the whole installation is damaged.

4. Check Windows and the graphics driver

Compare your PC with the PUBG requirements in our catalogue and check Windows updates. Obtain the driver for your exact graphics model from its manufacturer. After installation and a restart, repeat the same startup test. Change one condition at a time and record the result; reinstalling the entire game need not be the first response to every crash.

5. Prepare a useful support request

Include when the issue began, the exact error, the startup stage and checks already completed. PUBG Support also requests DxDiag information and the latest report under %localappdata%\TslGame\Saved\Crashes when available. Copy that report for the official ticket rather than deleting its folder first. No single checklist guarantees a fix for every crash cause.
