When a friend’s world is missing
Ask the host for the complete server name and enter it without abbreviations. Then try Switch and Reload; the developer allows either order and repeated list refreshes. Record whether the world is absent or joining fails after selection. The October 10 update improves friends’ world listings, but the current workaround list still marks finding or joining a world as an issue under development.
Grey Multiplayer or an authentication message
For missing authentication token, check that Steam is online. The developer also suggests temporarily turning off an active VPN or game accelerator before retrying. Compare one change at a time: a grey menu entry does not establish that a world was deleted, a save was lost, or an account was banned. If access still fails, keep the complete message and the attempt time.
Joining works, but a co-op quest stops
For main quests, the team suggests letting the host perform the steps; for Skinwalker quests and the tower, have the host temporarily work alone. This is a workaround tested by the developer on fresh servers, not a promise to repair every older save. If two Skinwalker keys appear and the box will not open, let the host open it. Follow quest order and avoid collecting later-stage items early, which the list identifies as a separate progression risk.
Prepare a reproducible bug report
Record the game version, world name, host, failure stage, and results of searching, refreshing, and checking Steam online mode. For a quest, add its name, active step, and the player who used the relevant item. This editorial checklist helps reproduction; passwords and sign-in codes are unnecessary. Use Bug Reporting linked from the official list. If the team requests logs or a save, send them through its designated channel rather than a public comment.
