Permafrost became available in Steam Early Access on October 9. A new developer announcement confirms the launch, and the current store listing no longer marks it as coming soon.
Explore frozen cities, forests, caves and camps, gather resources, craft tools and restore shelters. Cold, hunger and storms are among the described threats. A dog companion scouts, warns of danger and carries supplies. Single-player and online co-op for up to four participants are confirmed. Companion Edition includes the base game and a digital companion book; Ultimate adds a cookbook, soundtrack and novel. This is Early Access, with development continuing; this report makes no dated promises about future roadmap features. GameWorld now marks the game as available.
