Cyberpunk 2077: version 2.0+ requirements, SSD and settings with ray tracing disabled

CD PROJEKT RED’s support page separates the requirements for Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty from the legacy 1.63 table. Use the current table for the current game, rather than requirements printed on an old box.

Minimum: 1080p and low preset

Table 2.0+ without ray tracing describes 1080p, low preset and expected 30 FPS: Windows 10 x64, Core i7-6700 or Ryzen 5 1600, GTX 1060 6GB, RX 580 8GB or Arc A380, 12GB RAM and 70GB SSD. The article also requires up-to-date DirectX 12. These are the target conditions of the publisher's table, and not our measurement or promise of the result of each PC. When comparing, keep the resolution and preset together: one list of video cards without a check mode is meaningless.

Recommendations: 1080p and high preset

For the high 1080p preset with an expected 60 FPS, a Core i7-12700 or Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RTX 2060 Super, RX 5700 XT or Arc A770, 16 GB RAM and 70 GB SSD are specified. Don't carry this line over to 4K or ray tracing. For the first comparison, use the same area of the city and one saved position. Record the selected preset and image scaling to compare the same conditions, not just two frame rate numbers.

SSD and old version 1.63

For 2.0 and Phantom Liberty requirements an SSD is required. Below on the support page there is a separate historical table 1.63 with HDD in the minimum row; it does not override the current storage requirement. Check which drive the installed game is actually located on, and not just the presence of an SSD in the computer. If you are transferring an installation, use your store's standard route and check the new installation path after the transfer. Do not combine a processor from the new table with a drive from the old table into a supposedly confirmed configuration.

How to read ray tracing requirements

The publisher has separate presets and requirements for ray tracing. Read Overdrive especially carefully: the published expected 60 FPS at 2160p is measured with DLSS Frame Generation enabled, and not as a universal native frequency. First, select the desired mode - without ray tracing, with ray tracing or Overdrive, then compare the entire corresponding line. For your own test, record scaling and frame generation separately. Changing these options between attempts does not provide a direct comparison of the same image quality.
