Lost and Found Co.

Lost and Found Co. is a 2026 hidden object adventure game developed by Thai studio Bit Egg Inc. and published by Bit Egg and Gamirror Games. It was released for Windows and macOS on 6 March 2026.

The game follows Ducky, a duck transformed into a human by the war goddess Mei. The transformation leaves Mei weakened, and after drinking a potion she is transformed into a small dragon. Ducky then works for a lost-property company established by Mei in an attempt to regain worshippers and restore her power. Players search animated scenes for specified objects and characters, complete optional objectives, and decorate Ducky's room. The game received "universal acclaim" according to Metacritic, won the Grand Jury Award at the 2024 SEA Game Awards and Thai Game of the Year at Thai Game Fest 2026, and had sold more than 100,000 copies by August 2026.

Gameplay

Gameplay is divided into illustrated isometric stages containing large numbers of animated characters and objects. Each stage gives the player a list of objects or people to locate by examining the scene and clicking on them. Some targets only become accessible after the player interacts with objects in the environment. Stages also contain optional objectives, some of which are revealed through interactions with particular characters or objects.

The main story consists of eleven chapters, each centred on a client seeking help from the Lost and Found Co. Finding the requested objects advances the client's story, and characters introduced in earlier chapters may reappear later. The game contains more than fifteen stages, which can be revisited to complete unfinished objectives or restarted. Short animated scenes between chapters advance the story. The environments also contain interactive details, with objects responding when clicked and some interactions triggering additional events.

Completing objectives awards "likes", which are required to progress through the story. A hint system can direct the player towards difficult objects. Creatures called juju possess objects throughout the stages; finding them provides additional hints. In addition to the main story stages, the game includes separate requests and challenge stages.

As the business develops, Mei's shrine is converted into an office and the player gains a room for Ducky that can be decorated with furniture and other objects. Decorative items can be purchased from Kit and moved, resized and layered within the room.

Premise

Lost and Found Co. is set in the town of Plumville and follows Ducky, a duck who is transformed into a human by Mei, an ancient war goddess whose worship has dwindled. Using her power to transform Ducky leaves Mei weakened. After drinking a potion obtained with the help of a fox named Kit, Mei is transformed into a small dragon.

Because Mei's power depends on people's faith in her, she and Ducky operate a lost-property business from her shrine in an attempt to gain new worshippers and restore her power. The shrine is threatened with demolition by the corporation OKCO, led by its masked chief executive Zorro, as part of a planned property development.

Development and release

Lost and Found Co. was developed by Bit Egg Inc., an indie game studio based in Thailand, with Natachanan Lumpikanon serving as game director. According to Bit Egg, the studio selected the hidden object format in part because it could make use of its experience with Spine animation. Lumpikanon wanted the game to be accessible to people who did not regularly play video games, drawing in part on his mother's interest in hidden object games. The team sought to distinguish the game from more static examples of the genre by filling its scenes with animated characters and environmental interactions.

A demo was released on Steam on 17 July 2023. The game appeared during the 2024 Wholesome Direct, where its planned platforms included computers and mobile devices. In May 2024, Gamera Games was announced as the game's publisher in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. The publisher changed its name to Gamirror Games in April 2025.

The game was initially scheduled for release on 11 February 2026, but was subsequently delayed by several weeks. It was released through Steam for Windows and macOS on 6 March 2026.

In 2026, Bit Egg received Thailand's Prime Minister's Export Award for Best Service Enterprise in Digital Content & Software. The award's official profile identified Lost and Found Co. as the studio's flagship title.

In June 2026, a summer update added two new stages, "Master of Findjutsu" and "My Summer Memories 2", as well as Japanese and German localisation and additional decorative items. A fall update released on 1 October added the stages "Love After Life" and "Fangtastic Feast", Korean localisation, a dialogue-history feature, and further room-decoration items.

Reception

According to Metacritic, Lost and Found Co. received "universal acclaim", with a score of 90 out of 100 based on six critic reviews. OpenCritic reported a Top Critic Average of 90, with 95% of critics recommending the game.

Violet Plata of GameGrin gave the game 10 out of 10, praising its animation, story, varied requests, room-decoration system and attention to detail. Jonathan Toyad of Kakuchopurei gave it 90 out of 100, praising its detailed environments, visual presentation and relaxed pace while describing the denser stages as requiring close observation.

SECTOR.sk gave the game 9 out of 10. The reviewer praised its detailed animated environments, range of stages and accessible gameplay, while criticising the frequency of dialogue sequences and arguing that some environmental interactions could have been developed further. Eser Güven of Oyungezer also gave it 9 out of 10, praising its continuing story, optional objectives, visual style and increasingly large and difficult stages.

Sonia Heng of Quest Daily gave the game 8 out of 10, praising its hand-drawn art, animation, interactive environments and optional objectives. She described the animated interludes as giving the game the feel of a "quirky interactive anime", while criticising occasional aimless clicking when objects were difficult to locate and noting minor bugs.

Sam Wachter of RPGamer praised the game's integration of story with hidden-object gameplay, its animated environments and the way characters introduced in individual stages recur later in the narrative. She also praised the variety of its locations and secondary objectives, but criticised the hint system for unclear wording and typographical errors, particularly in hints for the more difficult optional objectives.
