Magical Craft: My Enchanted Dress Shop is a 2025 life simulation game centered on dressmaking and dress-up, developed by syn Sophia and published by Imagineer for the Nintendo Switch. It was released in Japan on 6 November 2025, followed by a digital release in Asia on 18 June 2026 and a physical release in North America, Europe and Australia on 2 October 2026. The planned Western digital release was delayed, with no new release date announced as of 3 October.
Gameplay
The player controls Lilia, a dressmaker living in the village of Fleune who uses "sewing magic" inherited from her grandmother. By making dresses in response to requests from villagers, she works towards becoming a "legendary dressmaker". She is accompanied by Jam, a cat who travels with her throughout the village. Fleune also contains other cats that the player can befriend to receive items. The player explores the village to collect fabrics, patterns and other materials. Dresses can be customised by combining fabrics, colours, patterns and motifs. They are completed through minigames based on four forms of sewing magic, and villagers can subsequently wear the player's creations. Lilia can also wear dresses created by the player, while completing villagers' requests allows their outfits to be coordinated. As the player's dressmaking level increases, additional designs and areas of the village become available. The ESRB describes the game as a simulation in which the player helps a seamstress operate a magical atelier.
Development and release
Imagineer and syn Sophia announced the game in July 2025, with a Japanese release scheduled for 6 November. Syn Sophia had previously developed the Style Savvy series and Fashion Dreamer.
An ESRB rating for an English-language version appeared in February 2026. Imagineer subsequently announced a digital Asian release for 18 June and physical and digital releases in North America, Europe and Australia for 2 October under the title Magical Craft: My Enchanted Dress Shop. The physical edition was released in the latter regions on 2 October, but the digital edition did not become available as scheduled. The following day, the game's official account apologised for the delay and stated that a new digital release date would be announced once confirmed.
Reception
The reviewers in the Japanese magazine Famitsu each gave Magical Craft: My Enchanted Dress Shop each game the game scores of 7, 8, 8 and 7 out of a possible 10.
